OUR STORY

Young women with disabilities participating in supportive community programs

WHO IS THE GLOW PROJECT

The Glow Project is a dedicated organization supporting young females with disabilities through inclusive programs and activities. We provide opportunities for fun, friendships, and a genuine sense of belonging in a welcoming community.

Through our supportive social network and engaging programs, we create spaces for personal development and meaningful connections. The Glow Project is committed to helping young women with disabilities live fulfilled lives, pursue their goals, and discover their potential. Our programs are designed to empower these young women to 'glow' and become the best version of themselves.

THE WHY & THE HOW

Our mission and approach to empowering young women with disabilities

THE WHY

Our hope for The Glow Project is that our tailored activities and social events will facilitate opportunities for socialising, teamwork, fun and creativity. We believe every young woman deserves a place where they can express themselves freely and build lasting connections.

We know the importance of laughing, having fun, and developing meaningful friendships, and how this can impact self-esteem and emotional wellbeing. We create a safe and supportive environment that builds confidence and encourages our participants to thrive and 'glow'.

THE HOW

The Glow Project operates from our home base in Nerrina, Ballarat, where participants meet each morning. We begin the day encouraging socialisation and interaction, with access to games, books, arts and crafts, and various creative activities. Each day features tailored activities based on participants' hobbies and interests.

Our program includes regular community access throughout Ballarat, plus trips to Melbourne, Geelong, and other cities. We believe it's important for participants to be active and experience life beyond the home base, keeping the program exciting and engaging.
